Route Scout

MITS Route Scout competition January closeup.Have you noticed the lovely painted traffic signal control boxes around town? The Muncie Arts & Culture Council has brought this exciting and popular movement to Muncie with Box! Box!, “a movement to develop attractive, vibrant places that reflect the culture of the area.” (Click here to learn more).

We at MITS are here for it! To show our support and gratitude for this artistic addition to the Muncie environment, and to do something fun where everyone can participate, we are hosting a new contest for the astute observer!

Each month, MITS will post closeup photos of a painted traffic signal control box in Muncie that sits along a MITS bus route, and post a monthly clue package on the MITS website and social media. Participants (you do not have to ride to participate) must figure out which box the pictures are revealing, and then determine which bus route the box resides upon. Go to the MITS website and enter their information and bus route guess for a chance to win a prize. For a second chance, take a selfie with the box and post it on social media with the #routescoutmuncie. Each month brings a new prize and a new box(es) to reveal.

So keep your eyes peeled, Muncie! New box(es) every month and multiple chances to win!

  1. Look at the posts and decipher which painted traffic signal control box it is.
  2. Figure out which MITS route the box resides upon.

  4. For a second submission, you can take a selfie with the box and post it on social media with the #routescoutmucie
