Attention MITS Riders, Walnut Street in the area of Muncie Central High School will be closed during the first two weeks of November for work connected to the construction of the new YMCA of Muncie. We know this will impact some of our routes. The closure will begin at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Walnut Street south of the Social Security Administration building at 600 N. Walnut Street.
Access will remain for the Social Security building parking lot off of Walnut, and Muncie Central will still be accessible off of Myrtle Street to the north. Traffic will be detoured around the construction using Wysor, Elm, and Myrtle streets. We will use the provided detours to continue providing service to the community.
