Have some summer fun at Fire Up DWNTWN this Saturday, August 6, 2022. Fire Up DWNTWN is the summer event you don’t want to miss. Head to downtown Muncie to enjoy family-friendly activities, hot air balloon rides, vendors, water activities, smoking food, and more! It is an all day event; attendees will have the opportunity to visit the event anytime from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
Due to Fire Up DWNTWN being an outside event, MITS will have detours on Saturday, August 6th. The detours include the #11 Southway Center bus which will detour inbound from Walnut to Willard, to Madison to Main, and then to the transfer station. #10 Heekin park bus will detour outbound from High St. left on Jackson, to right on Madison, then will continue the regular route. Please plan for these all-day detours on Saturday, August 6th. Also please be patient with all routes leaving the transfer station with increased traffic and closed roads on Saturday, August 6th.
As a sponsor of the event, MITS will be offering a FREE MitsPlus shuttle for parking at Fire Up
DWNTWN. Don’t miss this free ride. The shuttle will run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on August 6th, not for the entire event. The free shuttle will pick up passengers from the Star Bank building in downtown Muncie pointed south. The shuttle will exit from the west entrance and continue south on High St. picking and dropping off riders at all intersections. For further directions, please review image 1 below.
